Robert, "Bobby Gene," died on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 1:20 p.m. He held memberships in the Madison Eagles Lodge and Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. Over the years, he played drums in several different bands. An avid fisherman and gardener, Bobby Gene loved turtling, gigging for frogs, cooking and incorporating music into his life. He last worked for M&M Trucking for five years and then with Tandy's Trucking for three years. On November 1, 2013, he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Mann at Clifty Falls State Park. Bobby Gene worked early in life for Meese Orbitron Dunn and Tower Manufacturing, followed by 15 years as a truck driver for Best Line. He was honorably discharged on June 8, 1976. Bobby Gene was inducted into the United States Army and rose to the rate of Private First Class serving in Company B 9th Battalion at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
